A good opportunity for BESET who finished second in this race last year and arrives in good form after a Galway win that confirms her as the most appealing of six runners for her trainer. A likely danger is Caught U Sleeping, who ran well at Killarney on Monday. In My Teens has a big theoretical chance at these weights but may be flattered by her rating. Conversely, Acula is badly treated by the race conditions but may be significantly under-rated. [Alan Sweetman] Show less
Spotlight: Second in this last year; ended last season on a high with a 1m4f Listed win at the Curragh (heavy); maintained progression at this venue on return (10.5f, soft); close second in a 1m2f Curragh Group 3 in April (soft); failed to match that form in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes in May; returned from break to beat Chablis Rock readily at Galway; strong chance of a follow-up.
Spotlight: Maiden winner at Down Royal last year; ended the season with a rating of 95; ordinary hurdles form last winter; took a big climb in the ratings for a 7l handicap win over 1m4f at the Curragh in June; has struggled since raised in class, and probably flattered by her 108 rating.
Spotlight: Long odds-on when winning a novice at Pontefract (1m, good) in June; united by the steady gallop in a 1m2f handicap at Windsor next time; much improved effort over 1m4f when third in the Galtres at York (good to soft); nondescript display over 1m2f at Yarmouth last time.
Spotlight: Ended last season with two fine 1m2f wins in a Curragh handicap and a Listed race at Leopardstown; has failed to show comparable form this term.
Spotlight: Course Listed winner in May, solid form during the summer, including in Group 3 races; put in a good display when third in a 1m3f Listed race at Killarney on Monday; trainer/rider combined to win this event in 2024.
Spotlight: Has been employed in a supporting role in Group 1 races; cheekepieces on for the first time; has a realistic chance on this occasion
Spotlight: Built on debut fourth at Gowran when third at the Curragh (1m2f, good) in June; probably matched that display when second to an Aidan O'Brien-trained favourite at Cork; wide-margin winner of a 1m4f maiden at Galway; further improvement needed now.
Spotlight: Sea The Stars half-sister to Group 3 winner Starford; pleasing debut over 1m at this venue, missed the break, ran green, finished well; stepped up from that to win a 1m2f maiden at the Curragh; both placed horses, The Austrian and Handani, have won twice since; however 84 rating implies she would have a better chance in a handicap.
Spotlight: Ex-Dermot Weld filly made a poor start for this yard in a Curragh handicap (1m2f, good); much more like it when scoring over 1m5f at Ballinrobe in June; down the field in this race last year.
Spotlight: Showed promise on the second of two starts at two and encouraging second on seasonal debut at the Curragh; no trouble landing the odds in a Limerick maiden over this trip; unplaced favourite for a Down Royal handicap in June; much improved when beating all bar her well-fancied stablemate Beset at Galway.
Spotlight: Good form late last season and early in this campaign, recent form is not persuasive; trainer has stronger representatives
Spotlight: In good form in handicaps, notching two wins and two seconds between June and September; unplaced at Listowel in her first race in this category; talented apprentice, unable to use his claim here.
Spotlight: Promise on sole start at two; stayed 1m2f well when beating today's rival Chablis Rock on soft-to-heavy at the Curragh on reappearance; fourth of eight behind the subsequent Oaks winner Thundering On in a 1m2f Group 3 at Navan in April; 95-rated filly appears safely held by Beset and Chablis Rock on running at Galway.
Spotlight: Maiden winner over 1m2f on most recent of four starts, this is highly ambitious.
Spotlight: Beat an 86-rated previous winner in a 1m contest at Dundalk last December on her only juvenile start; set a tough task in a fillies' Group 3 event at Navan on return; struggled in two outings at Navan during the summer; up against it in this grade
Spotlight: AW winner; yet to reach the first three on turf; 78-rated filly looks out of her depth at this level.
