Spotlight: In the first three late last year in his three qualifying runs (1m/1m2f, AW/soft); finished in rear on handicap debut at Ayr last month but that was in a Class 2 event after a lengthy absence; should benefit from that run and he needs checking in market on this big drop back in grade.

Spotlight: Can pull hard and has worn a hood for last five outings; raised his game, though, with the move up to 1m2f this summer, including for a clearcut win at Doncaster and a creditable fourth over C&D; flopped back at Doncaster last month but that was on tacky ground and he could bounce back on this return to AW.

Spotlight: Debut winner; gelded prior to finishing third in handicaps at Sandown (1m2f, good) and Kempton (1m3f; both runs in cheekpieces) in August and he had an excuse on soft ground last month; still has potential after only five starts and could be dangerous in new headgear.

Spotlight: 3yo who has won three of her last four handicaps, including when coming from rear to beat a clear second at Pontefract (1m2f) two weeks ago; 5lb higher on this switch to AW but she's open to more progress and is a half-sister to two course winners; big player.

Spotlight: First five wins were on turf but last two were at this track (1m2f/12.4f) last autumn; has solid record in five runs this season and he did best of the rest behind an improver who dominated here in July; dropped 1lb and he should go well again back in trip after a break.

Spotlight: Won off 3lb higher at Southwell (1m3f, Tapeta) last March but he's not matched that form since and was beaten 6l over C&D and at Redcar (1m2f) last month; hasn't been with Ruth Carr for long but he needs to raise his game back on AW.

Spotlight: Last win was at Doncaster (1m2f) in June 2023 but that was off 4lb higher; mixed record in just four runs this season but he ran respectably at Doncaster last time and could be in the mix if he can build on that.

Spotlight: Seven-time AW winner, who was runner-up at Pontefract (1m4f, good) in July but his form has nosedived in two subsequent runs; now returns to AW but he needs a major revival on this step back up in grade.

Spotlight: Won over hurdles at Cartmel (2m1f) in July but was pulled on his return visit the following month; on dangerous mark back on the Flat but has bit to prove after that last run and he's not won in this sphere since April 2023.

Spotlight: Versatile filly who has won over 1m1f and 1m5f; fair efforts at Ayr and Hamilton in last two runs but she now goes back up in grade and needs to find more to make a serious impact in this competitive race.

Spotlight: Won twice over C&D for David O'Meara and last win was in this race last year; looks well treated on that form but he's failed to reinvent himself as a hurdler for current yard and was tailed off back on the Flat here (12.4f) in July; that was after a third wind operation and he has plenty to prove after another break; tongue-tie back on.
